I have 2 Yamaha DXS 15" active subs. And thinking about adding to more. But im not sure if i will buy 2 x 15" or 18" subs. The 18s are nearly double the price. Is it worth it? To be honest the boom i have in the 15s are great.

Conversely, I actually encourage my subcontractors to hand out their own business cards. If they get a review with their name on it from that event, they earned it and are welcome to use that to promote themselves. It is not a reflection of my work if I was not present at said event. If someone hires my brand, they get me. I won’t pretend like I own anyone in the process of upholding the integrity of my brand name. Just my two cents.

Every aspect of this topic/subject matter is based on Integrity & Legitimacy...both are not very common in this "industry" or even in this culture. Best of luck convincing the illegitimate mASSES that integrity matters.

Beat mixing is very important. You shouldn’t just try to get the mix close and fade in and out.

Great video. All mobile DJ's need to have one (better yet two) of these inverters. Absolutely indispensable, take it to EVERY gig! I've got various units from Bluetti, Ecoflow, and an amazingly tiny unit from Elecaenta (not much larger than a can of soup). I actually run on battery for most of my gigs these days unless I happen to be set up right next to a power plug.

Audio Technica have had these for years.

Yes they are a nice cab. One of my inputs stops working with hardly any use and I can't get the part so not worth buying

When using the column arrays (which I do not own) you were speaking about the coverage for the tops and how to best correct by toeing them out. No mention of the subs though. With how these are typically used by mobile djs, 8ft or wider apart, doesn't that increase the valleys of the low end?

(40:52) @Jay & @Eric, I run my subs on booth out. I can lower the amount of bass for different times of the event. When someone is speaking I turn the subs all the way down. That cuts out the feedback.

I love virtual DJ and I hate them. I hate them for the fact that it is nearly impossible to get through with them on the phone. Now my problem is I bought a new laptop which exceeds the requirements for VDJ. When the songs are playing the audio keeps chipping out. But on my old computer the songs plays very good. Also I noticed on the new computer that music waves does not run smoothly as like on the old computer

I keep lights all but off during dinner. Uplighting and maybe...MAYBE tube glow (lowest brightness) just to keep a bit of elegance, but spin and puke during dinner? Who tf does that?

Yet another, "Not every client is my client" reality. C'est La Vie. However, not every venue, and I suggest not even the preponderance have this policy for reasons that have anything to do with "other" unprofessional, poser deeeejays. Lots have more selfish/self serving motives. (Hint $ or control). In my limited, almost 40 years of experience, spending more than a quick but honest/sincere effort to persuade, either or both clients & venues, on this "issue" isn't worthy of the effort, energy or aggravation...particularly in the last 10 years. Changing the minds and practices of self serving people, in this matter, mainly venue owners is a Sisypisian task...but feel feel to push that boulder.

I love your videos, Bill, but you missed a big part of this which you did not talk about venues love kickbacks and these DJs are giving these venues kickbacks that’s a big part of this as well. It does not happen all the time but most of the time it does

If a venue said that, I would take my business elsewhere.

I tried the Bose S1, the JBL option as well. The S1 mix pre's are so weak they're unusable...so you have to bring out a mixer...which ruins the portability component. The JBL's backlit knobs were a deal breaker for full sun ceremonies. The EV option is great but it's $800. I keep buying open-box deals of the Mackie for $300. I have four of them now. They are AWESOME for what they are and for what they cost. I use them for ceremonies and for satellite speakers for toasts at large weddings. Probably the only Mackie gear that I'll ever vouch for.
